You will visit: at SAMEBA Cathedral church. The Tbilisi Holy Trinity Cathedral commonly known as Sameba is the main Georgian Orthodox Christian cathedral. It is the largest religious buildings in Georgia and the Caucasus.

Tbilisi city tour starts at Metekhi plateau, from where is perfect panoramic view to the old city – Narikala fortress, Bath district, Meidan, Kala district, Betlemi district – so tourists can have a look at the whole old city.

 Which they will explore in the next few hours Tbilisi historic places:

The bath district and Legvtakhevi are the very heart of the city. According to the legend Tbilisi history starts from the hot sulfur springs.

Meidan – the heart of old city. Central square which used to be trade center of the city and now is surrounded by nice cafes.

Synagogue – as Tbilisi used to be cultural and administrative center not only for Georgia, but for whole Transcaucasia region, it became very multinational, multireligius and multicultural city. Here in one district are located mosque, synagogue, Georgian churches, Armenian church, and Catholic church and historically till now people of different nationalities and religion live peacefully beside each other.

Freedom square – now days is the city center, but centuries ago it was the edge of the city.

Baratashvili avenue – one of the most nice avenues of the city, in old times it also was city edge and now here are remains of the old city walls.

Tower clock – modern bizarre tower built by head of puppet theater – Rezo Gabriadze became favorite attraction for local people and tourists.

Bridge of Peace – modern walking bridge only for walking in the heart of the old city. Good place to make good photos. And of course the heart of modern city – Rustaveli avenue, with cozy cafes, different and colorful shops.

In the day visit: Museum of Golden Foundation, Museum of Art.(closed on Mondays) Here you find: Khakhuli, Tsilkani and Atskuri icons of Mother Maria, miraculous image of Jesus Christ from Anchiskhati and many more.

Starts journey and the first place where they will visit is the grave of St. Nino held here in a Bodbe monastery (4th century) and taste the water from the spring which is considered to be miraculous. Near Bodbe we will visit fortified town of Signagi (17th century) and enjoy the splendid views of the Great Caucasus Mountains.

The next place to visit is David Gareji cave complex, located in a stark, semi-desert landscape. This monastery was founded in 6th century by one of the Syrian fathers David. Later on it grew and consisted of 19 monasteries. It was one of the major spiritual centers which used to house even 6000 monks on special religious days. 

Return to Tbilisi.

Depart to the ancient capital of Georgia Mtskheta – the town-museum, included to the UNESCO World Heritage Site List. Visit of temple- monastery Jvari ( VI c.). At the top of the mountain, where the temple is located, opens a fantastic view on the place of confluence of two rivers – Mtkvari and Aragvi in ancient capital of Georgia – Mtskheta. Visit of Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (1010-1029), at the bottom of which is buried one of the major Christian relics Lords chiton, this church is also a burial place of many of the Georgian kings.

Mtskheta – Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th century) and Jvari Monastery (6th century) in Mtskheta are amongst the most significant monuments of Georgian Christian architecture


Drive to – Stepantsminda (Kazbegi). On the way to it, we overlook the picturesque Ananuri fortress (XVI c.), located above Aragvi river, and also the amazing beauty of Zhinvali reservoir. In passing the ski resort Gudauri (2200 m), the stunning trip along Tergi river, through Cross Pass (2400 m), will bring us to Stepantsminda (Kazbegi).
